Due to popular demand, we have expanded our repertoire to include private parties. Our “house” is small and inviting and we have basically maintained the original floor plan, with a “mud room,” dining room and wrap-around veranda. We did relocate the entrance to the north side of the property and we added an outdoor patio area there as well. Because of our historic designation, spatial limitations, and the fact that we reside in a partially residential area, we do not have a bar or formal reception area.
We do offer a beautiful setting and a quiet atmosphere for special occasions. Knowing one of your reasons for choosing Brockton Villa is our wonderful location, we will accommodate your party with the best possible view and seating area. The management is at your service to assist in your event planning.

Brockton Villa Restaurant offers several separate dining areas for private parties.
The West Veranda is a covered porch with clear plastic curtains that are raised or lowered depending on the weather. There is a spectacular view of the La Jolla Cove, and a great sunset vantage point during the evening. The tables on the veranda are “splatter painted” in blues and greens and can be moved together to seat up to 20 guests. Although there are bound to be other customers at the small tables along the narrower, North Veranda, a gathering on the West Veranda has a private feel. The entire Veranda makes a great stand-up cocktail setting as well.
The Inside Dining Room features a large abalone-inlaid (gas) fireplace, which was added to the Brockton Villa around the 1920′s. The tables inside are light wood, with mismatched chairs, and striped upholstered bench seating. The tables in the room can be reconfigured in several different formats. There is an ocean view (until the sun goes down!) and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. We always have fresh flowers on inside tables.
The Outside Patio offers a spectacular open-air setting. There are hand-painted “Nasturtium” tables, shaded by umbrellas and an old pepper tree, which is lit at night by white party lights. The Outdoor Patio area is also the entrance to the restaurant, so privacy is limited unless your party is using the Brockton Villa Restaurant exclusively.
Enclosed you will find our suggested Party Menus. We prepare all our food and desserts fresh and from scratch. We are happy to work with you on special requests. Due to space and storage limitations, we do require sit down entrée counts at least 7 working days prior to your function. We ask that you do not bring outside food or beverages into the restaurant, unless pre arranged. Since there is no bar area at the Brockton Villa, we primarily host sit-down meals. However, the veranda makes a lovely “cocktail” reception area prior to sitting down (pm only). The West Veranda and the Inside Dining Room may be combined to accommodate a larger group for a sit-down meal. We can also offer a Buffet in the Inside Dining Room or Outside Patio.
We are proud of our selections of small-production wineries, and micro-brewed bottled beer. We also feature French Bubbly, and the very popular selection of “Brocktails.”
We feature an extensive non-alcoholic beverage menu. San Diego’s own Café Moto freshly roasts our coffee.
Our “sister” restaurant is also available for parties. Beaumont’s is located in the heart of Bird Rock, about 5 miles south of the Brockton Villa. Beaumont’s offers a full bar and live music options.
Fresh flowers are on all inside tables, and you are welcome to add your own arrangements. We can provide tablecloths in the color of your choice for a separate charge. You are welcome to decorate your tables. But please, no tape, nails or pushpins. We use white linen napkins for all meals and luminaries are added to each table in the evening.
There is street parking along Coast Blvd., including in front of the restaurant. There is also a public parking lot at the top of Coast Blvd., which is a reliable option and a very short walk to Brockton Villa. The La Jolla Cove area is a very popular destination and parking can be challenging. Please allow additional travel time for parking, so your party starts on time!
